You may experience interference on your DirecTV and Dish systems as the sun passes behind the satellites in the spring and in the fall. The timing of this depends on the particular satellite in use and your geographic location. For Sherwood Forest this may occur in mid-afternoon between the middle of September and the end of October and also between the middle of February and the end of March. The problem should not last more than 15 minutes each day.
Precise alignment of the dish can minimize the problem, but not prevent it entirely. With good alignment nearly all the transponders should be above 80% power.
